Hey Y'all!
As many of you already know, we purchase a ranch 3 years ago in the Hill Country between Austin and San Antonio. Last January, Jan and I relocated to to our current temporary apartment home here in San Marcos to start working with our architect to design and plan our new home on the ranch.
Fast forward to today - we have signed the Builder's paperwork and submitted our paperwork to the bank to begin the construction process. With any luck, we should be starting to set foundations within four weeks.
Here are some pictures of the property in its current state before we start building our home.
Craig, Jan and Melinda cruisin' in their new Polaris Ranger ranch toy!
More views of the general landscape of the property as it sits today. We'll try to maintain the beauty of the land by not disturbing the native fauna or trees that populate the property, and yes, it does get very green!
This view is basically what we will see out from the back patio once the house is built and situated.
A bit greener view of the build site where the new house will be situated.
Jan spreading wildflower seeds in the meadow in anticipation of this spring's flowers.
One of the longhorn friends that roam the 1700 acres of grazing that makes up the ranch lands. You DO NOT want to get too close to one of these puppies when the horns start swinging!
One of the wonderful benefits of a Texas sunset! This, and all of the night stars are worth the effort of laying on your back and just looking at the nighttime sky.
Okay, its not Texas beer, but bringing some Walla Walla wine to the ranch is a joy in itself. Wine rules!!
See ya next blog when we start digging the foundations!!
